The Office of Student Engagement and Campus Center is seeking a federal aid recipient for student employment. This position will be funded by federal work study dollars; only students that receive financial aid awards can be considered for this position. The Campus Center, housed within Hammond Hall, has been student-run since 1977 and has grown significantly over the past four decades, many changes have been made as the needs of our students change and grow. This building, however, still serves its original purpose and offers itself as a place where students can spend time socializing and expanding themselves outside the classroom. Hammond Hall houses everything from offices and services for students to the Gallucci-Cirio Library and the North Street Bistro.
Commuter Affairs is an area of the Campus Center and the Staff reports to the Manager of the Campus Center. Duties include, but are not limited to, assisting in the operation of Commuter Affairs.
Job Requirements:
Successful candidates must be able to assist in the operations of Commuter Affairs, done by providing clerical duties, answering phones and emails and by providing friendly customer service to patrons. Including maintaining a clean, organized and professional appearance to the office/lounge. By providing opportunities, awareness and promotion of existing and advocating for the implementation of additional services. Staff will need to assist with the successful assessment, collaboration, planning, promoting and implementation of events and services pertaining to commuter students. They must also assist with the creation and distribution of outreach materials, encouraging commuter student involvement. Staff will also need to assist in management of lockers and their assignments. Candidates must establish positive relationships with commuter students, staff members, and the University community. Good computer and typing skills, as well as, effective verbal and written communication skills are needed.
Additional Information:
Shift Information: This is a part-time, non-benefited student only position and the hourly rate is $15.00 Employees should expect to work at least 8, but no more than 20, hours per week.
