Organization Overview:
Fit to Recover (FTR) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to creating a safe, supportive community for individuals in recovery from substance use disorder. Through fitness, nutrition, creative arts, and service, we empower individuals to build resilience and long-term recovery. Our team is passionate, collaborative, and grounded in purpose—and we are looking for a Finance Coordinator to support our mission through sound financial management.
Position Summary:
This position will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, supporting budgeting and reporting processes, and ensuring compliance with nonprofit financial practices. This position plays a key role in sustaining the financial health and integrity of FTR and reports directly to the Executive Director.
Core Responsibilities:
- Process accounts payable and receivable, prepare bank reconciliations, and maintain the general ledger
- Assist with budget development
- Generate monthly financial reports for leadership and the board of directors
- Support annual audit preparation and liaise with external auditors
- Ensure compliance with nonprofit accounting standards and internal financial policies
- Handle payroll processing and ensure accurate timely payments
- Collaborate with program staff to track spending against grant budgets
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- Minimum of two years of professional accounting or financial experience preferred; nonprofit experience strongly preferred
- Proficiency in QuickBooks, Microsoft Excel
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and a high level of integrity
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
