Fit is seeking an experienced Payroll Specialist to join a reputable team at a well-established HVAC and plumbing company. This position plays a critical role in ensuring accurate, timely payroll processing, union compliance, service billing, and contract-related documentation in a fast-paced construction environment. Salary is in the $50K - $60K range depending on experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Process weekly/bi-weekly payroll using Sage 300 / Timberline software
- Manage union employment reports, certified payroll, and union-related processing and remittances
- Handle billing for service work, including job costing, progress billing, and related entries
- Oversee contracts, change orders, and lien waiver document management
- Maintain accurate employee records, deductions, garnishments, and tax filings
- Reconcile payroll reports and work with project managers on job cost allocation
- Support HR functions as needed (onboarding, benefits administration, etc.)
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and union regulations
Qualifications:
- Strong experience with Sage 300 / Timberline payroll module required
- Proven background in union payroll processing and certified payroll reports
- Experience in the construction / HVAC or plumbing industry strongly preferred
- Familiarity with service work billing, contracts, and lien waiver processes
- High attention to detail and strong organizational skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and general office software
