FIT Services Pennsylvania is a Building Automation Systems (BAS) provider with offices in Washington, PA and in Windber, PA. We design, install, and maintain automatic controls for commercial and industrial Heating, Ventilating and Air Conditioning (HVAC) systems, throughout Western Pennsylvania, Eastern Ohio, and Northern West Virginia. FIT Services Pennsylvania is seeking a System Specialist to join our BAS controls team at our Windber and Washington Pennsylvania facilities.
This position will provide technician services for the electronic Direct Digital Control (DDC) systems that control all types of equipment associated with HVAC systems including, boilers, chillers, air handling systems and various other types of equipment. The successful candidate will be involved starting from the initial proposal through the completion of each project.
Responsibilities
- Perform necessary point-to-point check-out, commissioning, diagnostic, and maintenance procedures on building automation systems, front-end workstations, servers, electric and pneumatic controls.
- Troubleshoot and repair building automation system panels, including communications equipment, power supplies, electrical/electronic controls, sensors, and transducers.
- Efficiently edit computer programs for building automation system points such as determining conversion patterns, defining point acronyms, and/or soliciting alarm specifications from operating personnel.
- Perform any assigned preventative maintenance, repair, and emergency service calls.
- Maintain project-related documentation including but not limited to commissioning documentation, daily reports, as-builts and status reports.
- Develop and maintain a cooperative working relationship with members of the company, clients, sub-contractors, and other contacts.
Qualifications
- Possess and maintain a valid and current Driver’s License and be insurable by our company’s insurance carrier.
- High School Diploma or equivalent, plus additional specialized courses or short-term training (one year or less) with a minimum of 5 years’ experience in the field of building automation controls or Associates Degree, Technical/Business School Certificate or Diploma, Skilled Trades Apprenticeship, or other post-high school training (two years duration) with minimum of 3 years experience in the field of building automation controls.
- Capable of climbing ladders or using other lift equipment more than 8 feet above grade, and capable of lifting items to 50lbs.
- Understanding of control logic.
- Knowledge of DDC control theory and applications pertaining to the HVAC/Control preferred.
- Prior experience in HVAC and/or Building Automation is preferred.
- Ability to read and understand mechanical and electrical drawings.
- Competency in Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Office, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Visio/AutoCAD.

Pay: $45,000.00 - $55,000.00 per year
