Product Development Project Manager

Who You Are & What You’ll Do

As a Project Management, you will act as a key contributor to the Project Management team and will manage the development of several product lines from initiation through production to retail. You will be directly responsible for negotiating and procuring the optimal pricing with Global factories and US vendors and you will be responsible for ensuring that appropriate timelines and schedules are met. You will be responsible for managing multiple projects/tasks simultaneously and independently while identifying risks and bottlenecks and contributing possible solutions.

Note: This is an in-office position based in Providence, RI. We’re a fun bunch of men and women who do our best work when we’re bouncing ideas off of each other, reviewing samples, and brainstorming new products so we’re looking for someone who is excited to be in office (most of the time) in our awesome downtown Providence space.

A Day in the Life

• Lead and monitor the development process, working with the cross functional development team, external suppliers & partners to deliver project goals.

• Create project development schedules and prioritize activities of the project team members to ensure adherence to the plan; Suggest innovative ideas and methods for reducing development timelines.

• Raise potential schedule risk to the Project Lead and provide recommendations.

• Facilitate project development meetings and communicate action plans developed by team.

• Maintain roadblock/action items list for key projects and drive team towards resolution.

• Partner with operations to provide early warning of availability delays and adapt development plans based on market forecast revisions.

• Develop, maintain, and continuously improve management reports and ensure data is accurate in informational systems.

• Become intimately familiar with your particular retail accounts and their requirements; IE: Master carton case packs, shelf requirements, packaging requirements, etc

• Ensure all programs comply with relevant industry regulations, safety standards, and company policies.

• Monitor budgets and resource allocation across projects.

• Foster strong relationships with internal teams, external vendors, and strategic partners

Qualifications

· BS/BA in business or technical area preferred, or equivalent.

· Products & manufacturing experience; Soft Goods experience a plus

· Strong negotiation skills.

· Knowledge of CPG industry cost structure

· Quality Assurance knowledge

· 4-6 years Project Management experience within the CPG industry

· Advanced Microsoft Excel experience preferred (VLOOKUP, PivotTable etc)

· Planning & analytical skills (Knowledge of forecasting, POS analysis)

· Excellent communication skills and ability to facilitate diverse functional teams and forums

· Experience with retail partners a plus (Target, Walmart, Specialty Stores, Discounters etc.)

· Proficiency with project management tools (e.g., MS Project, Asana, Monday.com) is a plus
