Trade Advisor

Flanders Investment & Trade (FIT) is seeking a Trade Advisor to join its Houston-based team. In this role, you will support the day‑to‑day operations of the office, assist Flemish companies with their U.S. market activities, and contribute to a wide range of trade and investment initiatives.

We are looking for an enthusiastic, motivated, and well‑organized professional who enjoys working in a small, dynamic, and international environment.

• Proactively gather, analyze, and screen market and company information
• Facilitate matchmaking and respond to inquiries from Flemish companies looking to export to the United States
• Conduct desk research and prepare market studies and briefings
• Draft proposals and respond to questions related to doing business in Flanders
• Provide administrative and operational support to the Houston office
• Maintain and update internal databases and CRM systems
• Handle email and phone inquiries in a professional and timely manner
• Coordinate with internal colleagues and external partners
• Support the organization of events, trade missions, and other activities

• Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Commerce, International Business, or a related field
• Minimum of two years of relevant work experience
• Strong proficiency in MS Office applications; familiarity with social media is a plus
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Detail‑oriented, well‑organized, and structured working style
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
• Comfortable interacting with a wide range of professional stakeholders
• Knowledge of Dutch is an asset
