Deputy Vice President

Flanders Investment & Trade is looking for a Deputy to the Vice President (m/f/x) for the region Americas & Africa in New York, who will work closely with the Vice President in the strategic, operational, and administrative management of the region. 

You will support the Vice President in a broad range of responsibilities, including: 

• Overseeing the implementation of the regional strategy and contributing to its further development 
• Helping shape a high-performing and efficient regional team, balancing results, collaboration, and wellbeing 
• Coordinating and aligning with Headquarters (HQ) and the FIT offices across the region 
• Collecting, analyzing, and screening economic and market intelligence related to the region 
• Contributing to the development and follow-up of the regional action program 
• Promoting FIT through appropriate channels and overseeing regional marketing and communication campaigns 
• Supporting the Vice President in their role as a member of senior management in the development, implementation, and follow-up of cross-organizational initiatives 
• Monitoring and following up on regional budgets and financial initiatives 
• Coordinating and following up on HR policies and processes within the region 
• Coordinating responses to parliamentary questions related to the region 
• Providing general administrative support to the Vice President 

Desired Skills and Experience: 

We are looking for a candidate who meets the following criteria: 

• Master’s degree, or a Bachelor’s degree with several years of relevant experience, preferably in International Business, Trade, or a related field 
• Strong administrative and communication skills, with excellent organizational, project management, and time management abilities 
• Detail-oriented, structured, and solution-driven 
• A strong team player who can also work independently and take initiative 
• Comfortable in professional environments and able to build strong working relationships quickly 
• Creative and innovative mindset 
• Basic knowledge of international trade and investment 
• Strong analytical skills to identify trends, opportunities, and challenges 
• Proficient in digital tools (MS Office, MS 365; knowledge of graphic software is an asset) 
• Fluent in English (required); knowledge of Dutch is considered an asset 

You MUST either be a U.S. citizen, a Legal Permanent Resident (green card), or have a Visa with an Employment Authorization Document.
