Position Summary
The Associate Production Scheduler is responsible for maintaining and executing short-term production schedules across Fischer’s printing and converting operations. This role balances customer priorities, machine capacity, material availability, and real-time operational conditions while ensuring schedule adherence, data accuracy, and cross-functional communication. The position also provides backup support for purchasing and BOM updates and supports inventory accuracy and new business readiness.
Key Responsibilities:
Maintain and adjust short-term (daily and 1–2 week) production schedules, optimizing job sequencing to minimize changeovers
Monitor schedule execution, track daily adherence, and escalate at-risk orders or capacity constraints
Maintain accurate MRP jobs and participate in daily production planning meetings
Communicate schedule changes with Production, Quality, Maintenance, and Shipping teams
Coordinate preventative maintenance within production schedules
Monitor in-process jobs and ensure timely ERP updates for completions, labor, and material receipts
Support cycle counts, investigate variances, and ensure accurate inventory transactions
Provide backup purchasing support (PO entry and expediting)
Assist with BOM updates tied to short-term scheduling needs
Support additional projects aligned with supply chain and operational goals

Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Operations, or related field (or equivalent experience)
1–3 years of production planning/scheduling experience in a manufacturing environment
Experience in paper converting, packaging, or similar industries preferred
Experience with data analysis and reporting
Skills & Experience:
Strong problem-solving skills
Exposure to Lean, 5S, or Six Sigma concepts
Experience communicating with customers via phone/email
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)
Experience with ERP systems (SysPro, MOM, PeopleSoft, JD Edwards, etc.)
