Accounts Payable Specialist (On-Site)

Pay Range: $20.23 – $25.79 per hour
Location: Carthage, NY

Role Overview
North Star Health Alliance/Carthage Area Hospital is seeking a detail-oriented professional to manage the full lifecycle of our Healthcare Accounts Payable (AP) process. The ideal candidate will combine technical proficiency in bookkeeping software with the high-level communication skills needed to manage vendor relationships and internal coordination. Key Responsibilities

• Full-Cycle AP Processing: Own all aspects of AP, including processing and distributing invoices, issuing payments, and maintaining digital and physical financial records.
• Vendor Relations: Serve as the primary point of contact for vendors regarding payment inquiries, invoice requests, and account reconciliations.
• Data Integrity: Maintain a high volume of records with 100% accuracy, ensuring all entries align with internal compliance and auditing standards.
• Administrative Support: Assist with professional correspondence, scheduling, and specialized data entry using office management systems.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s degree in Business or Accounting preferred.
• Experience: 2 years of experience in Accounts Payable, Bookkeeping, or high-volume Administrative Support (experience with CPSI is a plus).
• Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office (specifically Excel) and accounting software such as QuickBooks or AMS360.
• Communication: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills for professional interaction with both internal teams and external partners.
• Mindset: A detail-oriented team player who can work independently, meet strict deadlines, and adapt to changing priorities.

• The listed base pay range is a good faith representation of current potential base pay for successful applicants. It may be modified in the future. Pay is determined by factors including experience, relevant qualifications, specialty, internal equity, location, and contracts.
