About the role:

We are looking for an experienced COBOL/Tandem programmer to join the PHASE3 team.

As a Software Engineer Lead – Tandem Mainframe COBOL, you will be responsible for

• Develop core versions of software applications for sale to external clients.

• Identify client purchasing requirements and technical specifications through Product Management and/or client representatives.

• Interacts with engineering groups to assist in design changes to equipment and/or software.

• Train and communicate with clients on systems applications.

About the team:  
The Position is in FIS Securities Processing (Phase3) Product. Phase3 is a real-time order-to-settlement securities processing system used by broker/dealers and correspondent clearings firms.

What you will be doing:

• Work on enhancement and Support projects for the Product.

• Support FIS solutions and ensure the quality and utilization of FIS products satisfy client needs.

• Recreate, document client issues, and troubleshoot problems to support product quality.

What you will need:

• Strong understanding and solid work experience on COBOL, TACL, Guardian procedure calls

• Strong understanding and solid work experience on Nonstop Pathway, SQL/MP, Tandem Utilities

• Strong Analytical and Problem-solving skills with working experience on the above skill set

• Able to take the initiative and work independently or in a team.

• Experience in documenting SOPs to support daily operations.

• Domain expertise in Fintech, especially around Brokerage and Clearance

• Nice to have experience in C, C , SQL/MX, and NonStop OSS environments.

• Excellent communicator – ability to discuss technical and commercial solutions to internal and external parties and adapt depending on the technical or business focus of the discussion.

• Attention to detail – track record of authoring high-quality documentation.

• Organized approach – manage and adapt priorities according to client and internal requirements.

• Self-starter but team mindset - work autonomously and as part of a global team.

• A bachelor’s degree in business administration, computer science or other related discipline or the equivalent combination of education, training, or work experience.
