About the Role:

Are you ready to lead the charge in cloud reliability and automation for mission-critical trading systems? As a Lead DevOps Engineer, you’ll own platform stability and guide a team of engineers supporting FIS Energy Trading, Risk & Logistics (ETRM) — a cutting-edge, cloud-native platform powering global commodity markets.

You’ll work with a global team spanning Asia, Africa, Europe, and the US. This isn’t just a support role — it’s a leadership opportunity to shape operational excellence, drive innovation, and deliver resilient, scalable solutions in a 24x7 environment.

What You’ll Do:

• Lead and mentor a team of operations engineers, setting standards for reliability and automation.
• Act as incident commander for high-severity events; drive root cause analysis and publish post-mortems.
• Engineer observability (metrics, logs, traces) and define SLIs/SLOs for critical services.
• Automate operational workflows and build self-healing systems to reduce manual toil.
• Optimize Kubernetes/OpenShift clusters and containerized applications for performance and scalability.
• Partner with development on production readiness, capacity planning, and disaster recovery strategies.
• Collaborate across global teams to ensure consistent processes and operational excellence worldwide.

What You Bring:

• 7 years in production engineering or DevOps for distributed systems.
• Proven leadership experience guiding teams in high-availability environments.
• Hands-on expertise with Cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) — required.
• Strong experience with Kubernetes, OpenShift, Docker, and Java/WebLogic.
• Strong scripting skills (Bash, Python) for automation and tooling.
• Experience defining SLIs/SLOs, implementing observability, and leading incident response.
• Excellent communication and decision-making under pressure, especially in global contexts.

Bonus Points:

• Energy Trading & Risk Management (ETRM) or financial systems experience.
• Technical phone support background.
