Description

Job Overview:

The Lifeguard Supervisor is responsible for overseeing daily pool operations within the community, ensuring a safe, clean, and enjoyable environment for residents and guests. This role supervises lifeguard staff, enforces pool rules, responds to emergencies, and serves as a liaison between the lifeguards and management.

The community pool opens Memorial Day weekend and runs through Labor Day weekend.

Schedule: 40 hours/week; pool is open from 11:00AM and 8:00PM

Compensation: $18–19/hr

FirstService Residential will compensate the successful candidate in accordance with the posted range. The salary or wage paid to the successful candidate will be commensurate with experience, education, and specific job responsibilities. For positions designated at a client's property, the salary or wage will also be premised upon the client's directive. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future.

Your Responsibilities

Supervision & Staff Management

  • Supervise and support all lifeguards on duty; ensure proper coverage during all operating hours
  • Prepare and manage staff schedules, breaks, and shift coverage
  • Provide training, guidance, and performance feedback to lifeguard staff
  • Ensure all lifeguards maintain current certifications

Safety & Compliance

  • Enforce all pool rules and HOA policies consistently and professionally
  • Maintain a safe environment by monitoring swimmer activity and addressing unsafe behavior
  • Respond to emergencies, administer first aid/CPR/AED as needed, and complete incident reports
  • Ensure compliance with local health department and safety regulations

Operations & Maintenance Oversight

  • Conduct daily inspections of pool areas, restrooms, and surrounding facilities
  • Report maintenance issues (equipment, gates, furniture, cleanliness) to management promptly
  • Coordinate with management for repairs and service needs
  • Ensure proper setup and breakdown of pool area (furniture, umbrellas, etc.)

Resident Relations

  • Provide excellent customer service to residents and guests
  • Address questions, concerns, and minor disputes in a professional manner
  • Communicate pool closures, safety concerns, or rule reminders as needed

Administrative Duties

  • Maintain accurate daily logs, attendance counts, and incident reports
  • Track pool capacity (if applicable) and monitor guest usage
  • Assist management with implementing pool policies, events, or reservation systems

Education & Experience

  • Current Lifeguard Certification
  • Current CPR/AED and First Aid Certification
  • Previous lifeguard experience required; supervisory experience preferred
  • Strong leadership, communication, and conflict resolution skills
  • Ability to remain calm and act quickly in emergency situations
