Job Overview: The Golf Course Quality Control & Landscape Crew Support will uphold sustainable landscaping management (SLM) standards, oversee and optimize the Rain Bird irrigation system, and ensure the aesthetic and functional quality of our community’s landscaping and golf course. This role includes training crew members, enhancing work efficiencies, and pro-actively identifying improvement opportunities while maintaining strict budget adherence. Compensation: $25 per hour, based on experience FirstService Residential will compensate the successful candidate in accordance with the posted range. The salary or wage paid to the successful candidate will be commensurate with experience, education, and specific job responsibilities. For positions designated at a client's property, the salary or wage will also be premised upon the client's directive. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future. Your Responsibilities:- Ensure that all golf/grounds/landscaping activities follow sustainable landscaping management (SLM) guidelines, prioritizing environmental stewardship, water conservation, and ecological health
- Operate, maintain and troubleshoot the RainBird irrigation system to optimize water usage and promote healthy landscapes throughout the community and golf course
- Train and mentor landscaping crew members while providing ongoing education on best practices for overall landscape maintenance
- Implement time-saving strategies to streamline daily operations, ensuring projects are completed on schedule
- Identify and implement landscaping and irrigation enhancements to find creative, cost-effective solutions that enhance the quality of the community and golf course landscaping while staying within budget
- Work closely with management, team members and vendors to address issues related to irrigation, plant health and landscape design
- Maintain detailed records of irrigation system performance, landscape improvements, crew training and budget expenditures
- Provide regular updates on progress and propose recommendations for future landscape improvements
- Knowledge of sustainable landscaping practices
- Able to effectively troubleshoot and maintain irrigation systems
- Creative problem-solver with a keen eye for landscape improvement, balancing quality within budget constraints
- Excellent time management skills with the ability to multitask
- Proficient in budgeting and cost estimation
- Strong leadership abilities, with proven experience in training and managing a team
- Exceptional customer service and interpersonal skills to build positive relationships with clients, vendors, and team members
- Prior experience in golf course landscaping operations, troubleshooting and maintaining landscaping, irrigation systems (especially RainBird), and/or golf courses
- Walk and move throughout the community common areas and facilities
- Sit and stand for moderate periods of time
