The Accounting Clerk function is a vital part of our Association. The Mar-Len Gardens is a housing cooperative for the elderly made up of 12 buildings which hold 42 apartments, three stories high. Govern by THE COOPERATIVE ACT, Chapter 719, Florida Statutes.
Mar-Len Gardens is looking for a part-time Accounting Clerk who can provide support on a range of activities to ensure a high-quality product. The position involves working to organize and verify financial information, process invoices, organize office mail, record business transactions, and manage customer accounts on any given day. Also, the position involves working primarily with English speaking clients and the incumbent must be able to communicate with the clients, both verbally and in writing, in English.
MAIN ACTIVITIES
• Organize and process financial transactions;
• Prepare month-end reports;
• Scan, organize and track documents for the sale of apartments.
• Maintain financial filing systems;
• Manage accounts payable;
• Assist with clerical and administrative tasks.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES
• Excellent communication skills.
• Good judgment and analytical skills with a focus on attention to detail.
• Ability to manage several files at once, establish priorities and meet tight deadlines;
• Capable of working independently and take ownership of tasks.
TECHNICAL KNOWLEDGE
• Advanced skills with Simple Accounting and Quick Books as well as Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint and Word.
WORK EXPERIENCE
• High School, College diploma or an equivalent combination of education and experience with an administrative assistant skill set.
SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS
• Proficiency to quickly learn proprietary software such as Simply accounting and/or Quick books
