Sr Accountant- Buford, GA
We are seeking an experienced Senior GL Accountant to join our team in Buford. This onsite role is ideal for a hands-on accounting professional with a strong background in the construction industry and deep expertise in general ledger accounting, journal entries, and chart of accounts management. The ideal candidate will bring 10–15 years of progressive accounting experience and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain the general ledger, ensuring accuracy and completeness of financial records
- Prepare and post complex journal entries, accruals, and month-end adjustments
- Reconcile balance sheet accounts and investigate variances
- Oversee and optimize the company’s chart of accounts structure
- Support monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes
- Prepare financial statements and internal management reports
- Ensure compliance with GAAP and internal accounting controls
- Collaborate with project managers and operations teams on construction-related accounting matters
- Assist with job costing, WIP schedules, and revenue recognition related to construction projects
- Support external audits and tax preparation processes
- Identify and implement process improvements within accounting operations
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required
- 10–15 years of accounting experience with strong general ledger responsibility
- Prior accounting experience in the construction industry required
- Strong understanding of journal entries, reconciliations, and chart of accounts management
- Experience with Sage Intacct preferred
- Experience with Centerpoint preferred
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
- Strong analytical skills with excellent attention to detail
- Ability to work onsite five days per week in Buford
Salary : $85,000 - $90,000
