FirstFour Staffing is seeking a skilled and driven Civil Engineer to join a reputable engineering firm in the area. This role is ideal for an engineer who either holds a Professional Engineer (P.E.) license or is actively working toward obtaining it. The position offers hands-on project involvement, client interaction, and long-term advancement opportunities within a collaborative and innovative team environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the planning, design, and development of civil engineering projects, including site development, infrastructure, utilities, drainage, and roadway projects.
- Prepare engineering reports, design plans, technical specifications, and cost estimates.
- Perform hydrologic/hydraulic calculations, grading design, stormwater management analyses, and other engineering computations.
- Review and interpret survey data, maps, drawings, and reports to support project decision-making.
- Ensure designs comply with local, state, and federal regulations, permitting requirements, and industry standards.
- Support project managers with scheduling, budgeting, project coordination, and communication.
- Conduct field visits, site inspections, and assessments as needed.
- Collaborate with architects, contractors, municipalities, and internal project teams.
- Provide quality assurance/quality control support on design deliverables.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field required.
- E.I. (Engineer Intern/E.I.T.) certification preferred; P.E. license highly desirable.
- 1–5 years of engineering experience (internships and co-ops considered).
- Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D, MicroStation, or similar design software.
- Strong understanding of civil engineering fundamentals, codes, and regulations.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively within a team.
- Willingness to conduct fieldwork and occasionally travel to project sites.
