Urgent Care - Medical Assistant / Licensed Practical Nurse (MA/LPN) – Part-Time (Monday's)

FirstCare Medical Center is looking for a reliable, compassionate, and team-oriented Medical Assistant or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our busy Urgent Care team on a part-time basis.

We are a privately owned medical practice that takes pride in providing quality patient care in a friendly, professional, and supportive environment.

Position Details

• Position: Medical Assistant (MA) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)
• Status: Part-Time
• Required Availability: Mondays, 8:00 AM – 7:00 PM
• Additional shifts may be available based on practice needs and candidate availability.
• Location: Highland, NY

Responsibilities

• Room and prepare patients for their visits
• Obtain and document vital signs and medical histories
• Assist providers with examinations and procedures
• Perform clinical testing such as EKGs, injections, and specimen collection, as applicable
• Assist with in-office treatments and procedures
• Prepare and maintain exam rooms and clinical areas
• Perform point-of-care testing and other clinical duties within scope of practice
• Provide excellent customer service and compassionate patient care
• Accurately document patient information in the electronic medical record
• Follow infection control, safety, and office policies
• Work collaboratively with providers, Medical Assistants, front desk staff, and other members of the healthcare team

Qualifications

For Medical Assistants:

• Previous medical office or urgent care experience preferred
• Medical Assistant certification preferred
• EKG experience preferred
• Strong communication and organizational skills
• Ability to work efficiently in a busy clinical environment

For LPNs:

• Current New York State LPN license in good standing
• Previous clinical experience preferred
• Urgent care experience is a plus
