POSITION OVERVIEW
We are currently seeking an experienced Accounting Manager to join the fast-growing FirstCall Mechanical Team. The ideal candidate will have a can-do attitude and strong problem-solving skills, as well as a high level of customer service.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Oversee day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger.
- Prepare and review financial statements, ensuring compliance with GAAP and company policies.
- Prepare financial reports for management, highlighting key performance metrics.
- Manage month-end and year-end closing processes.
- Supervise and mentor accounting staff, providing training and performance evaluations.
- Foster a collaborative and high-performance team environment.
- Work closely with project managers to monitor job costs, profitability, and contract compliance.
- Ensure accurate billing, revenue recognition, and WIP (Work in Progress) reporting.
- Conduct profitability analysis for service contracts and projects.
- Develop and manage annual budgets and financial forecasts.
- Monitor budget variances and provide actionable insights to management.
- Monitor cash flow and manage accounts receivable collections effectively.
- Prepare cash flow projections.
- Other duties as assigned

ORGANIZATIONAL ALIGNMENT
This position reports directly to the local Controller.
Qualifications:- Bachelor's degree in Accounting
- Minimum 5 years of relevant accounting and finance experience.
- Deep understanding of the financial close process, including the preparationof journal entries, reconciliation schedules and financial statement package
- Experience in financial operations, including A/R, A/P, treasury, payroll and state and local tax compliance
- Great written and verbal communication skills
- Advanced computer skills and ability to quickly learn and adopt new software tools, experience with accounting software
- High degree of professionalism and strong sense of ownership and pride in your work
- Working knowledge of SAGE Intacct, a plus
- Background in trades environment: construction, electrical, HVAC, a plus
- CPA or desire to pursue CPA designation, a plus
