Overall Responsibility:

Leading a team of volunteers by developing, organizing, and supervising the Youth Ministry (6th to 12th grades) to help the next generation become disciples of Jesus Christ. The goal is to lead our leaders in growing a healthy, relational, and outward focused ministry. This person will oversee our Sunday night ministry and special events including summer mission trips

Essential Job Functions:

Research, recommend, and implement a Bible-based curriculum in consultation with a ministry team.

Recruit, train, equip, develop, and support leaders to serve in Youth Ministry.

Develop and coordinate ministries that incorporate small groups, large groups, and service projects for youth and their families.

Coordinate with staff and other ministry leaders to promote and advocate for youth to attend and participate in worship and the mission of the church.

Plan, promote, and lead a summer mission trip for students.

Monitor and ensure all volunteers have a current Safe Gatherings Certificate on file.

Coordinate with other staff in promotion of events.

Consistent presence and leadership in weekly Student Ministry (Sunday evenings) and Weekend Worship.

Assist in worship through leading worship elements such as announcements, prayer, etc.

Build relationships with youth and families by attending community events such as plays, sporting events, etc. of students.

Essential Knowledge, Experience, and Education:

Understanding of Youth Ministry culture, principles, trends, and programs.

Graduation from an accredited college or university preferred.

Strong leadership and administrative skills.

Ability to be comfortable with and effectively speak to small, medium, and large groups of all ages.

Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions.

Ability to identify, recruit, develop, and engage leaders passionate in making disciples of Jesus Christ.

Skill in working with individuals to achieve a “teamwork” work environment.

Must have a clear call to children's ministry, and articulate relationship with Christ.

Weekly Staff Meetings and 4-8 office hours a week required. Must be willing to join Church.
