Recruiter / Scheduler
First Steps Nursing and Therapy is seeking a Full-Time Healthcare Recruiter / Scheduler to support our Private Duty Nursing department. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys building strong teams, and understands the urgency of home health staffing.
This position plays a key role in recruiting, onboarding, and coordinating Licensed Nurses (LVNs & RNs) while ensuring smooth day-to-day staffing operations.
Schedule
Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
On-call rotation required (evenings & weekends)
Key Responsibilities
Recruit and onboard licensed nurses (LVNs & RNs) through sourcing, outreach, screening, and interviewing
Conduct phone screens and guide candidates through the hiring process
Coordinate, confirm, and manage nurse schedules to ensure full case coverage
Monitor daily staffing needs and prioritize urgent scheduling gaps
Communicate professionally with nurses, clients, and internal team members
Manage incoming calls with confidence and accuracy
Follow up with clients to ensure satisfaction and continuity of care
Maintain organization, confidentiality, and timely documentation
Attend weekly team meetings and contribute to operational improvements
Participate in on-call rotation to support after-hours staffing needs
Qualifications
Minimum 1 year of home health or hospice scheduling experience (required)
Current experience recruiting LVNs and/or RNs strongly preferred
Strong understanding of home health staffing and scheduling workflows
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Highly organized with strong attention to detail
Ability to multitask and problem-solve in a fast-paced environment
Self-motivated and able to work independently
Proficient in Microsoft Office and general computer systems
Professional, reliable, and positive attitude
