Job Title: Workers Comp and Automobile Accident Scheduler
Reports To: Department Supervisor
Position Objective: The WC/AA Scheduler is responsible for scheduling appointments for workers compensation and auto accident patients. Presents a positive image to supporting staff members and patients at all times.
Position Requirements: High School Diploma or Associates Degree in related field, previous experience in scheduling appointments, excellent communication and computer skills, good working knowledge of medical terminology and WC and auto insurance experience a plus. Ability to maintain good working relationships with all co-workers, patients and general public. Knowledge of state laws and statutes. Understanding of legal process involving medical claims. Understanding and react to developing trends in healthcare reimbursements.
Detailed Responsibilities:
- Schedule appointments for WC/AA patients.
- Send tasks and communicate with doctors and clinical staff.
- Gain and retain knowledge of WC/AA laws.
- Work responsibly with the rest of your team.
- Maintaining patient confidentiality.
- Organizational responsibilities: promoting patient rights; responding appropriately to emergency situations; sharing problems relating to patients or staff with immediate supervisor in a timely manner.
- Gain and retain knowledge of company EMR system.
- Proficient at multi-tasking.
- Communication with occupational health facilities, attorneys, adjusters, and clinical teams. Maintain good connections and working relationships with any outside vendors.
Physical/Mental Demands: High levels of mental concentration are required. Must handle multiple tasks simultaneously and subject to interruptions. Physical effort requires sitting for long periods of time and repetitive movements consisting of reaching with hands and arms. Manual dexterity, visual acuity, and the ability to speak and hear are required.
