What are the responsibilities and job description for the Medical Assistant position at First State Orthopaedics?
First State Orthopaedics is seeking Full Time Certified Medical Assistants to assist Orthopaedic Surgeons in the office with Medical Assistant Duties for our Dover and Newark locations. Job duties include: assist and manage administrative and clinical tasks for physicians.
Medical Assistant Responsibilities and Duties:
- Working knowledge of EHR and EPM system, experience with Next Gen a plus
- Prepare patient for examination, instruct patient on procedures and assist with examination
- Perform clinical tasks: remove casts/dressing, remove sutures/staples and prepare injections
- Generate forms for scheduling tests, surgery, physical therapy, work notes, Rx's & patient instructions.
Qualifications and Skills:
Medical Assistants: Graduate of an accredited medical assistant program outside High School preferred but not necessary. Ortho/Spine/Podiatry experience preferred.
Good computer skills and experience with PACS system. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills required. Maintain professionalism and confidentiality. Ability to make independent decisions using critical thinking, problem solving and perform responsibilities under stressful situations. Meet technical standards. Must be capable of working variable schedules.
