Full-Time Audit Assistant

An Audit Assistant's role is crucial to bank operations. This person is part of a team who examines and analyzes financial and other records in every department. They are responsibile for ensuring accuracy and compliance and support internal processes by conducting scheduled and sometimes random audits.
Qualifications - ONLY THOSE WHO MEET MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS WILL BE CONSIDERED FOR EMPLOYMENT
* A minimum of 3 years banking experience is preferred. Experience in other fields could be considered.
* Experience/knowledge of auditing procedures/accounting or a working knowledge of debits and credits would be ideal.
* Familiarity with Horizon would be a plus.
* A working knowledge of Word and Excel is necessary for pre-established letters, documents and to maintain spreadsheets.
* The ability to be well organized, to demonstrate initiative and possess analytical and problem-solving skills is vital.
* Strong verbal, written and interpersonal skills are necessary to provide assistance to others in person or by phone.
* Must present oneself professionally in dress and demeanor and be friendly with a natural tendency to help others.
* A valid driver's license and clear driving record is required.
* Must be free to travel to branches without notice, although travel is typically scheduled.
Responsibilities - Conduct audits according to schedule; daily monitoring of Bank procedures and processes and teller cash; conduct teller cash counts under dual control; provide assistance with technical and procedural issues; assist with research of/reconciling/reviewing various internal accounts; complete monthly, quarterly and annual reporting.
Extensive reading and use of computer and phone is required. Regular attendance is necessary and essential to this position. Receiving detailed information verbally, in person or by phone is essential. Expectations are to perform all job duties and responsibilities as assigned and in accordance to applicable state and federal regulations, Bank procedures and policies and internal safety rules in a team-oriented environment (i.e. working in harmony with co-workers).
