Summary
The Accounts Payable Specialist is responsible for providing support for the accounting department. Handles accounts payable duties and other common duties associated with the accounting department. Assists accounting personnel on other projects when needed.
Essential Job Duties & Responsibilities:
- Maintains accounting records.
- Reconciles bank statements and General Ledger accounts on a timely basis.
- Performs basic accounting work on fixed assets and prepaid assets through a software program.
- Assist with FDICIA audit preparation and reporting.
- Accounts payable invoice processing.
- Accounting report writing and production.
Other Job Duties & Responsibilities:

- Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities.
- Accomplishes accounting and organization mission by completing all tasks timely.
- Motivated to learn new skills and take on other tasks/projects when needed and as requested by the bank Controller.
- Maintains accounting documents, processes and procedures.
Qualifications
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Accounting experience preferred;
- Bachelors in Accounting degree preferred;
- Strong MS Office skills;
- Ability to quickly learn systems and programs used in accounting function; and
- Detail oriented.

11) Physical Requirements – Lifting – The ability to lift a minimum of 10 lbs. up to a height of 3-4 ft. Standing/sitting - Must have the ability to remain in stationary positions 75% of the work day. Dexterity – The ability to operate a computer and other office machinery, such as a calculator, adding machine, copy machine and printer. Hearing – the ability to exchange accurate information to customers in regards to their accounts and/or banking procedures.
12) Active Learning -- Understanding the implications of new information for both current and future problem-solving and decision-making. The ability to learn technical material.
