Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated, dependable individual with a construction or roofing background to join our team as an Appliance Installer / Chimney Sweep Assistant.
If you have framing, carpentry, or roofing experience, but no chimney experience, we encourage you to apply — we will provide full training to the right candidate!
Sales experience is also preferred, as there are opportunities to identify and recommend necessary upgrades or additional services to homeowners.
This is a hands-on, physical position offering an exciting opportunity to learn a specialized trade with excellent advancement potential.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist lead technicians with installing fireplaces, inserts, and stoves (wood, gas, pellet, electric).
- Perform framing, rough carpentry, and finish carpentry around installations.
- Support chimney relining, repairs, and masonry rebuilds.
- Assist with chimney sweeps, inspections, and maintenance services.
- Set up and break down ladders, scaffolding, tools, and safety equipment.
- Safely work on roofs of all types and pitches.
- Maintain clean, organized, and professional job sites.
- Follow all safety protocols, including harnesses, respirators, and fall protection.
- Communicate professionally with homeowners and represent the company with integrity.
- Identify and recommend additional repair needs, services, or upgrades (training provided).
Qualifications
- Construction experience required — framing and carpentry skills are a must.
- Roofing experience strongly preferred — must be comfortable working at heights.
- Sales experience preferred — ability to confidently communicate and suggest solutions to customers.
- No prior chimney or fireplace experience necessary — we will train the right person.
- Strong physical ability to lift 50 lbs, climb ladders, and perform labor-intensive tasks.
- Clean criminal background (mandatory).
- Reliable work ethic, attention to detail, and strong problem-solving skills.
- Professional appearance and strong customer service skills.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation required.
- Willingness to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
- Ability to pass a background check.
- Willingness to work some Saturdays during peak season (October–December).
