Duties
- Perform thorough chimney inspections, cleanings, and maintenance to ensure safety and optimal performance
- Install, repair, and upgrade fireplaces, chimneys, flues, and related masonry components using hand tools and power tools
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to accurately execute construction plans
- Build or repair masonry structures such as stonework, brickwork, mortar joints, and concrete elements with precision
- Operate heavy equipment safely for tasks like rebar installation or concrete pouring during larger renovation projects
- Apply safety protocols consistently while working at heights on masonry scaffoldings or with heavy materials
- Use construction estimating skills to assess project scope, materials needed, and timeline estimates for clients
Requirements
- Proven experience in masonry work including stone masonry, bricklaying, stucco application, and mortar work
- Strong knowledge of construction site procedures, safety standards, and building material installation techniques
- Ability to interpret blueprints, schematics, technical drawings, and construction plans accurately
- Skilled in the use of hand tools such as trowels, chisels, hammers; power tools including drills and saws; heavy equipment operation preferred
- Experience with concrete finishing, concrete forming, rebar installation, and concrete masonry is highly desirable
- Familiarity with renovation projects involving fireplace systems or chimney structures
- Valid experience in construction estimating and understanding of schematics for precise execution
