Duties

• Perform thorough chimney inspections, cleanings, and maintenance to ensure safety and optimal performance
• Install, repair, and upgrade fireplaces, chimneys, flues, and related masonry components using hand tools and power tools
• Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to accurately execute construction plans
• Build or repair masonry structures such as stonework, brickwork, mortar joints, and concrete elements with precision
• Operate heavy equipment safely for tasks like rebar installation or concrete pouring during larger renovation projects
• Apply safety protocols consistently while working at heights on masonry scaffoldings or with heavy materials
• Use construction estimating skills to assess project scope, materials needed, and timeline estimates for clients

Requirements

• Proven experience in masonry work including stone masonry, bricklaying, stucco application, and mortar work
• Strong knowledge of construction site procedures, safety standards, and building material installation techniques
• Ability to interpret blueprints, schematics, technical drawings, and construction plans accurately
• Skilled in the use of hand tools such as trowels, chisels, hammers; power tools including drills and saws; heavy equipment operation preferred
• Experience with concrete finishing, concrete forming, rebar installation, and concrete masonry is highly desirable
• Familiarity with renovation projects involving fireplace systems or chimney structures
• Valid experience in construction estimating and understanding of schematics for precise execution
