Accountant

First Priority Group is a diversified manufacturer, dealer, upfitter and service provider of emergency and specialty vehicles seeking an Accountant to support our customers across all three of our manufacturing facilities.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Prepare, review, and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial entries in accordance with GAAP.
• Conduct fixed asset processing and reporting
• Maintain cash log and reconciliations of bank statements
• Assist with state sales tax reports and returns
• Support external auditors' requests for information and documentation
• Oversee the general ledger postings, ensuring accuracy and completeness of all accounting records.
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis to support strategic planning.
• Develop and refine internal controls and accounting workflows to support growth.
• Drive accuracy in manufacturing accounting, including standard costing, BOMs, variances, and inventory valuation.
• Partner with manufacturing and supply chain teams to improve visibility into production and cost drivers.
• Ensure ERP system accuracy and support process improvements and integrations.
• Balance independent ownership of core tasks with cross-functional collaboration across Finance, Operations, and Supply Chain.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance required
• Minimum 7–10 years of progressive, relevant accounting experience in a manufacturing environment
• Proficiency with ERP systems and Microsoft Office Suite (advanced level Excel)
• Strong technical accounting skills especially in account reconciliations and month-end close responsibilities
• Excellent planning and organizational skills; ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present clear, determined findings and recommendations
• Ability to thrive in high-performance teams, meet schedules and deadlines.
