Trim Carpenter

First Priority Group is a diversified manufacturer, dealer, upfitter and service provider of emergency and specialty vehicles seeking a Trim Carpenter to support our customers at our Flanders, New Jersey facility.

Skill Level and Experience

The ideal candidate has hands-on experience in carpentry, cabinetry, woodworking, or vehicle interiors and is comfortable working with a variety of materials, power tools, and custom-built components. This role requires strong attention to detail, accurate measuring and cutting and the ability to produce high-quality finished work.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Install flooring, interior walls, ceilings, cabinets, shelving, doors, windows, trim and other interior components.
• Fabricate, modify and install custom cabinetry, storage systems, work surfaces and interior finishes.
• Measure, cut, drill, fit and assemble materials according to drawings, specifications and vehicle requirements.
• Cut, drill, fabricate, and assemble brackets, supports, mounting structures, and other components required for custom equipment installations.
• Install and secure audio/video, communications, HVAC, plumbing, electrical and other vehicle equipment as required.
• Assist with the installation and routing of AC/DC wiring systems and related components.
• Work with wood, composite materials, plastics, aluminum, sheet metal and other materials commonly used in custom vehicle interiors.
• Use hand tools, power tools, woodworking equipment and measuring instruments safely and accurately.
• Perform finish carpentry and trim work to ensure a clean, professional appearance.
• Read and interpret measurements, drawings, layouts, and basic installation instructions.

Qualifications:

• Previous experience in trim carpentry, finish carpentry, cabinetry, woodworking, vehicle interiors, RV construction or a related field preferred.
• Strong experience using power tools, woodworking tools, hand tools, and measuring equipment required.
• Ability to accurately measure, cut, drill, assemble, and install custom components.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to high-quality workmanship.
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a production team.
• Ability to troubleshoot fitment and installation challenges in a custom manufacturing environment.
• Electrical, plumbing, upholstery, HVAC, and/or metal fabrication experience is a plus.
