First Priority Group is a diversified manufacturer, dealer, upfitter and service provider of emergency and specialty vehicles seeking a BOM Coordinator to support our customers at our Flanders, New Jersey facility.
Skill Level and Experience
We’re looking for a BOM Coordinator to join our growing team and help bridge the gap between Sales and Production through precise documentation, planning and part coordination. The BOM Coordinator will be responsible for creating and maintaining Bills of Materials (BOMs) and production plans for the conversion and refurbishment of emergency vehicles and related equipment. This role requires strong attention to detail, technical understanding of automotive systems and the ability to collaborate effectively with multiple departments including Sales, Engineering, and Production.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Create detailed Bills of Materials (BOMs) identifying necessary parts, materials and equipment for emergency vehicle conversions.
- Develop production plans based on sales proposals to guide the build.
- Collaborate with Sales, Production and Engineering teams to clarify specifications and resolve discrepancies.
- Communicate with vendors to obtain quotes, confirm part fitment and ensure timely procurement of materials.
- Maintain accuracy and consistency across all documentation to ensure smooth workflow from proposal to production.
- Follow verbal and written directions to complete assigned projects efficiently.
- Support continuous improvement efforts within the BOM and planning process.
Qualifications:
- Automotive knowledge is required; experience with emergency vehicles or specialty vehicle conversions is a strong plus.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Experience using ERP software is preferred.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate cross-functionally.
- Highly organized, detail-oriented and capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously.
- SolidWorks experience preferred, but not required.
- Ability to work independently while maintaining team alignment and accuracy in documentation.
