Job Summary
First Preschool & Pre-K is seeking a caring, dependable, and enthusiastic Preschool Teacher's Assistant to support our lead teacher in creating a safe, nurturing, and engaging classroom environment for young children. The ideal candidate enjoys working with preschool-aged children, communicating well with staff and families, and is committed to helping children learn, grow, and build confidence through play-based learning and daily routines.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist lead teachers with classroom activities, lessons, centers, transitions, and daily routines.
- Supervise children during indoor play, outdoor play, meals, rest time, and other activities.
- Help maintain a clean, organized, welcoming, and safe classroom environment.
- Support children's social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development through positive interactions.
- Model respectful behavior and use age-appropriate guidance strategies
- Help prepare classroom materials, art, snacks, and learning spaces as needed.
- Communicate observations and concerns to the lead teacher or director in a timely and professional manner.
- Follow all school policies, licensing requirements, health and safety procedures, and confidentiality expectations.
Qualifications
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- Experience working with preschool-aged children is preferred.
- Ability to pass required background checks and meet applicable childcare licensing requirements.
- Warm, patient, reliable, and professional approach with children, families, and coworkers.
- Ability to sit, stand, bend, lift, supervise active children, and participate in classroom and playground activities.
