Facilities Technician, First Presbyterian Church of Dallas\ The Stewpot
FPC Dallas\ The Stewpot are seeking a dedicated and skilled Facilities Technician to join our team. This role is crucial in ensuring a safe, clean, and well-maintained environment for our neighbors and staff. The ideal candidate is a proactive problem-solver with a strong work ethic and the ability to manage a diverse range of tasks independently.
This full-time position reports directly to the Facilities Manager.
Key Responsibilities:
Building Maintenance: Perform general maintenance and repairs across the Stewpot campus, including but not limited to carpentry, painting, drywall, and minor roof repairs.
HVAC, Electrical, and Plumbing: Conduct routine inspections, preventative maintenance, and minor repairs on HVAC systems, electrical fixtures and wiring, and plumbing systems. Coordinate with external contractors for more complex issues as needed.
Restroom Cleaning & Sanitation: Ensure all restrooms are consistently clean, sanitized, and well-stocked throughout the day, particularly during peak usage periods and events.
Event Support: Efficiently set up and break down furniture, equipment, and other necessary items for church services, day school activities, and special events, some weekend availability required.
Preventative Maintenance: Implement and maintain a comprehensive preventative maintenance schedule for all building systems and equipment to minimize breakdowns and extend asset lifespans.
Work Order Management: Utilize and manage a work order system to track, prioritize, and complete maintenance requests from staff in a timely and efficient manner.

Independent Work: Work effectively and efficiently with minimal supervision, demonstrating initiative and accountability for assigned tasks.

Other Responsibilities: Perform other duties as assigned by the Facilities Manager to support the overall operational needs of the Stewpot.
Qualifications:
Proven experience in building maintenance, including general repairs, HVAC, electrical, and plumbing.
Ability to troubleshoot and resolve a wide range of maintenance issues independently.
Proficiency in using a work order system or similar software.
Strong organizational and time management skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to lift heavy objects and perform physical tasks associated with maintenance work.
Flexibility to work weekends and occasional evenings as required for events.
A valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
Preferred Qualifications:
Certification in HVAC, electrical, or plumbing.
Experience working within a social service environment around homeless and poverty neighbors.
