Title: Student Discipleship Director
Ministry Department: Student Discipleship
Accountability: Executive Pastor
Purpose: The Student Discipleship Director is a part of Equipping the Church, working to provide a biblically based and comprehensive student discipleship program and will share in the creation of vision, leadership, and overall program coordination for students grade six through twelve as well as connection to students post high school / college (18-22). The goal will be to effectively introduce youth to a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ, and to provide a dynamic and relevant program to help students grow into faithful Christians and responsible church members.
Accountability: This position is accountable to the Session through the Staff Committee with Executive Pastor serving as immediate supervisor. Student Discipleship programs will be performed as approved by the Next Generation Discipleship Committee.
Organizational Structure: This position will be a Senior Team member, a Ministry Staff member, and a team member of Student Discipleship and work collaboratively with the Executive Pastor, other student ministers, other staff within Next Generation Discipleship, and the administrative support staff.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the Student Discipleship Team as well as the Executive Pastorto establish and implement goals by training and deploying volunteer leaders and staff.
- Routinely evaluate the Student Discipleship program in conjunction with the Student Ministers and Executive Pastorfor the purpose of cultivating a strong community of disciples and disciple-makers.
- Share in a bold and faithful vision for student ministry, operating within the umbrella of the collaborative youth program.
- Share Sunday School responsibilities with the other student ministers, including teaching, worship and administration.
- Be responsible for Wednesday evening programming, which includes teaching, worship and administration.
- Participate in one-on-one mentoring of high school and college students, as needed
- Serve as a collegial team member as a part of the FPC Staff.
- Manage a high volume of communication via email and phone.
- Attend worship services unless otherwise approved.
Specific Emphasis Areas:
- Accountable for the overall implementation of ideas and strategies for effective youth ministry.
- Ensure a cohesive team dynamic that leads to a flourishing ministry.
- Maintain effective lines of communication with parents and students throughout the year.
- Provide oversight for the planning, organizing, and execution of Junior and Senior High as well as students post high school / college (18-22) events including mission trips, retreats, and local events.
- Share teaching responsibilities with the Student Ministers in Sunday School and Wednesday night programming.
- Work directly with Children’s Discipleship and Early Adult Discipleship to ensure seamless transitions between life stages as well as participating in the leadership of these ministries at times.

Classification and Worktime
· Full-time, Exempt.
· Regular schedule: Sunday-Thursday.
