We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced individual to join our team as the Office Manager at FPC.
General Description: Provides administrative support to staff, Session, and committees. Greets visitors and handles inquiries. Reports to the Pastor.
Major/Essential Duties of the Job:
- Oversee front-office operations, including coordinating staff and volunteers to answer calls, respond to inquiries, and welcome visitors during business hours.
- Responsible for the production, editing, proofreading, and copying of the newsletter, worship bulletins, and other printed material.
- Use initiative in facilitating daily office support activities, such as answering phone, directing visitors, evaluating/sorting incoming mail, correspondence, and inquiries.
- Maintain and update church databases and calendars using ChurchTrac.
- Initial contact for facilities’ event use requests and coordinate facility-use process and coordinate scheduling of spaces by internal and external events.
- Notify appropriate church staff, committee members, and /or repair personnel of problems and needs related to church office equipment.
- Provide clerical and web support to church committees, staff, and ad hoc groups as directed by supervisor.
- Maintain adequate supplies of office materials, order new and replacement name tags, maintain flower calendar and oversee flower activities, and stock pamphlet display.
- Serve as webmaster for church website.
- Serve as helpful and hospitable “initial encounter” representing the church.
- Contribute to FPC’s social media presence (Facebook and Instagram).
Secondary Duties of the Job:
- Assist in problem solving for office activities.
- Train and direct volunteers as needed.
- Point of contact for office technology troubleshooting.
- Support external groups using church facilities.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Required Education and Experience:
High school graduation or equivalent combination of training and experience plus two years’ experience in general office or clerical work.
Preferred Education and Experience:
College business-related courses, continuing education, or associate degree. Three years’ experience in general office or clerical work.
Required special knowledge, abilities, and skills:
Working knowledge of Word, Excel, PowerPoint; graphic and email software. Strong customer service orientation and interpersonal skills. Attention to detail. Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others. Must be able to operate standard office equipment and have experience with electronic calendars and web content management system. Excellent verbal and communication skills.
Expectations and Compensation/Benefits:
Full time, Monday - Friday, insurance and retirement. Salary range $45,000-$50,000 per year.
