Duties
- Collaborate closely with the clergy and organist to select music that aligns with liturgical themes and enhances worship
- Lead weekly rehearsals, focusing on vocal technique, harmony, and performance skills to prepare the choir for upcoming worship services and special events
- Develop and implement rehearsal plans that align with the choir’s musical goals and repertoire
- Foster a supportive environment that encourages teamwork, confidence, and artistic growth among choir members
- Conduct a three-octave experienced, adult handbell choir (optional, with additional compensation)
- Conduct performances at weekly services and special events, ensuring high-quality delivery and stage presence
- Provide constructive feedback and mentorship to help musicians improve their technique and musical understanding
- Communicate effectively with choir members regarding rehearsal schedules, performance details, and program updates
- Effectively manage the overall music budget and maintain the music library
- Secure replacement leadership when absent
