Position Title: Production Manager

Position Type: Full-time | Permanent

Location: Davis, CA


Overview:

The Production Management Manager is responsible for overseeing production planning, scheduling, and coordination activities to ensure timely machine delivery and operational efficiency. This role works closely with Sales, Design, Procurement, Assembly, and Inspection teams to maintain accurate production schedules, manage machine specifications, and support overall manufacturing operations. The ideal candidate will bring strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills with a solid understanding of manufacturing and production planning processes.


Core Responsibilities:

  • Production Planning & Scheduling
  • Develop and manage a rolling 6-month production plan aligned with business objectives and sales backlog.
  • Coordinate with the Sales Department to ensure machine purchase orders are received within required timelines.
  • Review machine purchase orders, including specifications, delivery schedules, and pricing accuracy prior to processing.
  • Create and maintain production schedules with proper lead times across design, procurement, and manufacturing functions.
  • Monitor schedule accuracy and proactively communicate delays or changes affecting production timelines.
  • Provide ex-factory delivery timelines to Sales teams based on machine specifications and production capacity.
  • Cross-Functional Coordination
  • Collaborate with Design, Procurement, Assembly, and Inspection teams to manage production workflow and specification updates.
  • Ensure all required actions are completed following specification changes or production modifications.
  • Coordinate export-related requirements, including approvals, incoterms, export documentation, and check sheets.
  • Support manufacturing decision-making by reviewing production schedules and forecasting future operational requirements.
  • Maintain clear communication across departments to ensure alignment on production priorities and deadlines.
  • Operational Management & Reporting
  • Maintain production schedule accuracy and ensure all updates are reflected within internal systems.
  • Prepare and submit production reports, scheduling updates, and operational documentation as required.
  • Identify process improvement opportunities to enhance scheduling efficiency and production workflow.
  • Ensure compliance with company procedures, operational standards, and manufacturing best practices.
  • Support additional operational activities and special projects as assigned.


Skills, Knowledge, and Qualifications Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree required.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing operations and production planning processes.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate cross-functionally.
  • Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Ability to analyze schedules, production timelines, and operational requirements effectively.
  • Professional, accountable, and team-oriented mindset with strong problem-solving abilities.


Work Environment:

  • Primarily office-based with periodic exposure to manufacturing and production environments.
  • Exposure to manufacturing equipment, machinery, noise, and operational activities may occur.
  • Frequent computer and phone usage required throughout the workday.
  • Occasional standing, walking, bending, and lifting may be required.

Salary : $110,000 - $125,000
