Estimator

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Estimator to support the preparation of accurate sales quotations and change orders for construction-related projects. The role requires the ability to interpret architectural drawings, specifications, takeoffs, material and labor requirements, and project costs.

The Estimator will work closely with sales representatives, architects, contractors, subcontractors, designers, and internal teams to understand project requirements, develop quotations, and provide technical support.

Key Responsibilities:

• Interpret architectural drawings, specifications, verbal instructions, and contract documents.
• Prepare and revise bids, sales quotations, and change orders based on project requirements and associated material and labor costs.
• Work with sales representatives to clarify project requirements and recommend appropriate product changes or substitutions.
• Provide information and technical details to support order entry, drafting, production, and order layout.
• Provide technical product support to designers and customers related to quotations.
• Develop pricing for custom products and modify existing pricing programs as required.
• Create new pricing programs and coordinate with specialty vendors when necessary.
• Maintain accurate estimating and project information.
• Support effective communication between sales, design, production, and other internal teams.
• Assist with onboarding and training new Estimators.
• Perform other duties and projects as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree or 5 years of related experience.
• Experience reading and interpreting architectural drawings and specifications.
• Experience with construction estimating, material takeoffs, and construction documents.
• Knowledge of construction and fabrication methods.
• Experience with CRM systems; Salesforce preferred.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Word.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Willingness to travel approximately 5%.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with architectural drafting or material takeoffs.
• Experience working with contractors, subcontractors, sales teams, or manufacturing organizations.
• Experience supporting or managing key accounts.
• Ability to recommend cost-effective product changes or substitutions based on project requirements.
