First Hawaiian Bank is currently seeking a Fry Cook to join our lunchroom team at the First Hawaiian Center.
Work Schedule
Monday - Friday, 6AM - 3:30PM (hours may vary)
Compensation
The pay range for the role $19.00 - $23.00/hr; commensurate with experience.
Responsibilities
In this fun, fast-paced role, under the supervision of the Executive Chef, the Fry Cook will prepare breakfast items and assist with cooking lunch items. The Fry Cook will follow standardized recipes and menu specifications, set up and break down the hot line and ensure full compliance with all food safety and sanitation regulations.

Qualifications
The ideal candidate will have:
- High school diploma/GED or equivalent required
- Culinary school (Certificate or Associate's degree) preferred
- 1 year of experience working in a commercial kitchen, cafeteria, restaurant, or institutional food service environment preferred
- Prior experience with breakfast or short-order cooking preferred
- Food Handler/ServSafe or DOH Food Safety Certification preferred
- Working understanding of common kitchen equipment used for breakfast and fry-station cooking (e.g. griddles, fryers, ovens), including safe and proper operation
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment, especially during peak breakfast and lunch service
- Ability to communicate clearly and work cooperatively with the Executive Chef, Sous Chef and fellow cooks
- Ability to read and follow standardized recipes, prep lists, and written instructions; basic math skills for measuring ingredients
- Strong attention to detail to ensure breakfast items, fried foods and lunch entrees are cooked consistently and to specification
- Good time management skills to complete prep work, support hot line service, and meet meal service deadlines
- Ability to stand, walk, lift, and perform repetitive motions for extended periods
- Comfort walking near heat sources such as grills, fryers and steam tables
- Demonstrates knowledge of basic food-safety requirements, including temperature control, glove use, handwashing, and FIFO labeling and storage
- Maintains a positive and customer-focused attitude while serving guests on the hot line
- Demonstrates teamwork assisting with dishwashing, cleaning tasks, and maintaining a clean, organizsed work area
- Show willingness to learn, take direction, adapt to changing needs, and follow established kitchen procedures
- Maintains a professional and dependable work ethic in a fast-moving kitchen environment
