What You'll Do
This is a fast-paced, high-volume role — you'll be juggling multiple priorities at once and owning a wide range of responsibilities, including:
- Pre-authorization and surgical scheduling for your assigned physician
- Charge entry, payment collection, and patient account management
- Consulting with patients on financial responsibilities and insurance coverage
- Responding to patient concerns about billing and insurance — sometimes de-escalating matters with patience and professionalism when coverage doesn't go their way
- Serving as a calm, steady presence when patients are upset with clinical staff or insurance outcomes
- Preparing daily financial reports and handling bank deposits
- Upholding HIPAA standards and protecting patient confidentiality at every step
What We're Looking For
- Minimum 1 year of hands-on medical billing experience in a busy medical office environment
- OB/GYN or fertility billing experience is a strong plus
- CPT/ICD-9 coding knowledge and proficiency with medical software and MS Office
- Proven ability to multitask in a high-volume environment without dropping the ball
- Exceptional interpersonal skills — you stay calm, kind, and solution-focused even when patients are frustrated or upset
- Genuine empathy for patients navigating one of the most stressful experiences of their lives
