First Dance Studio located in Andover, MA offers Ballroom and Latin private and group lessons to adult social students and wedding couples. We provide exceptional dance instruction in an upbeat and welcoming environment. Our main focus is to give every student the special attention they need to accomplish their own unique dance goals. Most importantly we make each lesson a fun, positive and enjoyable experience!
Position Summary
As a Ballroom dance instructor, you will be teaching individuals and couples in both private (one on one) and group class settings. If you love music and dancing and have a passion for teaching and helping people achieve their goals, this could be a perfect fit for you.
You will be teaching adult students a variety of social ballroom dance styles in addition to teaching wedding couples how to prepare for a memorable first dance. We are willing to train the right candidate. This part time position offers a flexible schedule typically within the peak hours of 3:00 pm-9:00 pm on week days with some weekend availability required.

Minimum Qualifications
Prior Ballroom & Latin dance experience is helpful but not necessary. Will provide training and certification for the right candidate. This position is great for anyone with experience teaching physical movement. This could include dance instructors of various styles (Ballet, Modern, Tap, Jazz, Hip-Hop etc.), Yoga instructors, Pilates instructors, Zumba instructors, Dance Fitness instructors, Aerobics instructors, Martial Arts, as well as Physical Therapists and Personal Trainers.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Teach private and group dance lessons to new and existing students
- Choreograph and structure wedding couple’s first dance routines
- Prepare and execute dance lesson plans in accordance with students’ goals
- Monitor and track student’s progress and make recommendations for improvement
- Positively motivate and encourage students on all lessons to achieve their dance goals
- Promptly respond to new student inquires and leads via email and phone and register them for New Student Introductory Lessons
- Assist in generating, qualifying and converting leads into new students
- Determine new students’ goals, evaluate skills, make recommendation, and enroll them in best dance program fit
- Coordinate, schedule and follow-up with leads and existing students to build client base
- Continuously sell new student dance lesson programs and upgrade/renew current student programs
- Occasionally attend off-site events such as dance socials/parties, group lessons, performances and tradeshows
- Complete studio opening and closing duties checklist as needed
- Other Administrative duties and studio upkeep as needed
FLSA and Employment Status
This is a nonexempt part-time position with typical working hours between 4:00pm-9:00pm on weekdays and some weekend morning and afternoon hours needed.
