Security Trainer
First Coast Security Solutions provides security services nationwide. We are seeking a Security/Use of Force Trainer for National Institutes of Health (NIH) located in Maryland. This position will provide initial and refresher training to ensure all required training requirements are met.
Qualifications
- Must be a minimum of 21 years of age.
- Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Must be a U.S. Citizen and read, write, and speak English.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Current certifications (Instructor certifications are more desirable) in First Aid, CPR/AED, Defensive Tactics, Handcuffing, Baton, OC Spray, and Firearms.
Preferred (Instructor Level Certifications)
- OC Spray Instructor.
- MEB Instructor.
- Defensive Tactics Instructor.
- Handcuffing/Use of Force Instructor.
- Certified Firearms Instructor (NRA LE, or FLETC, or equivalent)
Experience
- Must have a minimum of two (2) years of training and field supervision experience in civilian community law enforcement, military service law enforcement, or commercial/industrial security force service.
- Demonstrated experience delivering initial, refresher, and remedial training for unarmed security officers in a classroom and practical learning environment.
Required State Licensing
- Maryland Security Guard Certification
Responsibilities:
- Develop and conduct required training programs for new hires and current employees.
- Monitor, evaluate, or record training activities for program effectiveness.
- Offer specific training programs to help workers maintain or improve job skills; develop alternative training methods if expected improvements are not seen.
- Organize and develop, or obtain, training procedure manuals and course materials such as handouts and visual materials.
- Present information using a variety of instructional techniques or formats such as role playing, simulations, team exercises, group discussions, videos, or lectures.
- Evaluate training materials prepared by instructors, such as outlines, text, or handouts.
- Conduct quality assurance inspections to include security screening operations at federal facilities.
- Provide instruction to new hires and current employees as required to maintain and improve marksmanship skills.
- Responsible for all aspects of quality control under the contract.
Working Conditions
- Work is performed at federal facilities, training environments, and office settings
- Position requires standing, and walking, and for extended periods
- Must be able to lift and carry training equipment and materials up to 50 lbs.
