Overview
Eugene First Christian Church is seeking a dependable and motivated Facilities Maintenance Assistant to help care for our church facilities. In partnership with the Facilities Manager, this position supports the safe, clean, and welcoming environment of our church campus for members, guests, and community partners.
Essential Job Functions
· Monitors property, inside and outside for needed repairs, maintenance and safety.
-Corrects routine maintenance needs and communicates others to the Facilities Manager
· Independently Performs minor repairs.
· Completes tasks and projects included on Maintenance Log.
· Completes assigned tasks as directed by the Facilities Manager
· When needed, works with maintenance/repair projects performed by outside labor/contractors.
· Keeps Facilities Manager informed of needed inventory of supplies and equipment
· Works with Office Staff and volunteers in completing routine repairs, etc.
· Aids the Event Staff when requested to support outside building rental events.
· Ensures that work sites are kept safe; provide signage or barriers when necessary; clean area upon completion of projects.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Some experience in maintenance, custodial work, or facilities support helpful.
- Basic knowledge of general repairs such as minor plumbing, simple electrical work (changing bulbs/fixtures), painting, and carpentry repairs
- Ability to safely use hand and basic power tools
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
- Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn
- Ability to lift up to 60 pounds
- Driver’s License and own vehicle
- Proof of Vehicle Insurance required
- Ability to stand, bend, climb ladders, ability to work in tight spaces and perform physical tasks
- Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying conditions
- Be flexible in assigned hours in order to accommodate occasional emergencies
- Become knowledgeable and accepting of FCC mission and vision.
Pay: $19.00 - $23.00 per hour
Expected hours: 25.0 per week
