Position Summary
This position supports the work of the Y, a leading nonprofit, charitable organization committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living and social responsibility. The Facilities Assistant at the Eugene Family YMCA intentionally fosters a cause-centered culture that is welcoming, genuine, hopeful, nurturing, and determined while also maintaining the cleanliness and functionality of the facility.
Essential Functions
- Painting: Perform touch-ups and minor painting tasks to maintain the appearance of the facility.
- Garbage Collection: Regularly pick up and dispose of garbage from designated areas, including outside the building.
- Supply Replenishment: Ensure that soap dispensers, paper towel holders, and other supplies are consistently stocked.
- General Maintenance: Assist with basic maintenance tasks as needed to ensure the facility remains in good working order.
- Clean Sauna: Maintain the cleanliness of the sauna.
- Pressure Wash various areas around the Y (indoor and outdoor)
- Clean Private Changing Room Drains: Perform weekly cleaning of the drains in private changing rooms.
- Change Shower Curtains
- Corrosion Control: Address and restore areas affected by corrosion on the pool deck.
- Clean Drinking Fountain Trays: Perform weekly cleaning of the trays in drinking fountains.
- Safety Compliance: Follow all safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment.
- Protects organization's value by keeping information confidential always.
- Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor(s).

Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting and carrying.
- Basic knowledge of painting and maintenance techniques.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
