Duties

• Collect blood samples from patients using venipuncture and other phlebotomy techniques with precision and care
• Prepare and process specimens according to laboratory protocols to ensure accuracy and integrity
• Obtain vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, and temperature to support comprehensive patient assessments
• Maintain strict aseptic technique during specimen collection to prevent contamination or infection
• Accurately document patient information, specimen details, and test orders using medical terminology and electronic health records
• Provide excellent patient service by explaining procedures clearly, addressing concerns, and ensuring comfort throughout the process
• Assist with laboratory procedures such as specimen labeling, processing, and transportation to ensure timely testing results

Experience

• Prior experience in a clinical laboratory setting or hospital environment is highly preferred
• Demonstrated proficiency in laboratory procedures, techniques, and specimen collection methods
• Knowledge of anatomy and physiology related to venipuncture sites and blood sampling techniques
• Familiarity with medical terminology relevant to laboratory testing and patient care
• Experience working with diverse patient populations while maintaining professionalism and empathy
• Strong understanding of laboratory safety standards, including aseptic technique and infection control practices
• Previous roles involving hospital or healthcare facility experience will be considered an asset
