What are the responsibilities and job description for the Groundskeeper / Porter position at FIRST CHOICE MANAGEMENT GROUP?
SUMMARY:
To be responsible under the direction of the resident manager for the appearance of the grounds as well as maintenance of good housekeeping standards in the common areas and vacant apartments.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
(Other duties may be assigned that are not included below)
Daily sweeping and trash pick-up in the parking lot and lawn areas to assure a constant litter-free and well-maintained property.
Daily cleaning of the swimming pool area and testing and maintenance of the pool water according to local Health Department specifications; adding and mixing chemicals as needed.
Daily cleaning of the laundry room(s). Daily check of the landscaping; watering as required.
Daily cleaning of additional common areas, as they may apply (sauna, jacuzzi, exercise room, hallways, breezeways, clubroom, office, etc.)
Distribute printed material as required by the manager and assist the maintenance staff whenever possible.
Trash out of vacated units as directed by the manager. Show concern for work-safety program.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
Must possess and demonstrate a high degree of skill in all grounds keeping and pool cleaning procedures. Prior maintenance experience or experience in related field.
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Ability to read documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions
and procedure manuals.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
Must show basic understanding of math on test designed by company for this position.
REASONING ABILITY:
Must possess an ability to communicate with people and understand that his/her presence affects the overall success of the property in terms of its appearance and productivity. Must see themselves as "in training" for additional maintenance responsibilities.
OTHER SKILLS and ABILITIES:
Must show no fear of heights (24 feet or more).

Pay: $15.00 - $17.00 per hour
