Position Purpose:
The Managing Director - Retail Banking is responsible for the overall leadership, strategic direction, and operational performance of the Bank's branch network. This role provides direct supervision to Branch Supervisors and is accountable for ensuring that Universal Bankers deliver consistent, high-quality service, sales performance, and operational integrity across all retail locations. The Managing Director will cultivate a culture of accountability, professionalism, and service excellence, while aligning branch performance with the Bank's broader strategic goals.
Primary Responsibilities:
Talent Acquisition & Leadership
· Recruit, hire, and retain exceptional Branch Supervisors and Universal Bankers who embody the Bank's relationship-focused culture.
· Ensure the Bank meets its commitment to clients by doing the day-to-day things in banking extremely well.
· Partner with Branch Supervisors to build and maintain an active external candidate pipeline for Universal Banker positions, ensuring each branch maintains one or two pre-qualified prospective hires.
· Develop and maintain a similar external pipeline for future Branch Supervisor roles to support growth, succession planning, and geographic expansion.
· Build a strong leadership bench through proactive succession planning, coaching, and development of future branch and market leaders.
· Foster a workplace environment that promotes accountability, collaboration, and performance excellence.
People Development and Culture
· Develop and execute a professional development framework for Universal Bankers and Branch Supervisors that includes structured training, mentorship, and skill progression.
· Champion a culture of continuous learning and improvement that enhances our ability to deliver exceptional service to clients.

Service Quality and Customer Experience
· Define and implement a consistent standard of service excellence across all branches to ensure every customer receives a seamless, personalized experience
· Develop performance metrics and recognition programs that emphasize service quality, relationship-building, and customer satisfaction.
· Help develop a seamless process for better serving our BM Technologies' customers via our branch network.
Operational Integrity and Risk Management
· Oversee all aspects of branch operations ensuring full regulatory compliance, sound risk management, and audit readiness.
· Maintain high standards of operational integrity across all branch functions, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and adherence to policy.
· Partner with Internal Audit, Risk, and Compliance to maintain and continuously strengthen policies, internal controls, and branch oversight processes.
· Leverage technology and process enhancements to increase efficiency and accuracy in retail operations.
Partnership with Commercial Banking
· Work in close alignment with the Commercial Banking leadership team to identify opportunities for joint client engagement, referrals, and relationship expansion.
· Equip Universal Bankers to identify business banking prospects and connect them to commercial teams for tailored solutions.
· Support strategic initiatives that enhance collaboration between retail and commercial lines, driving total relationship value for the Bank.

Job Specifications:
Position adheres to confidentiality policy, code of ethics and knowledge of Bank Secrecy Act and best practices and other pertinent Regulatory laws and regulations.
Required:
· Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or other related field; or at least five years of Banking experience
· Prior management experience
· Excellent computer skills to include knowledge of: Microsoft products, SharePoint, and Smart Draw
· Knowledge of banking regulations and operations
· Strong communication skills
· Leadership, flexibility, and problem solving
· Service orientated

· JHA Experience
