We are seeking a detail-oriented and knowledgeable Insurance Authorization Specialist to join our First Call team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring that patients receive the necessary authorizations for their medical services. This position requires a strong understanding of medical terminology, coding, and insurance verification processes, as well as compliance with HIPAA regulations. The Insurance Authorization Specialist will work closely with healthcare providers, insurance companies, and patients to facilitate timely approvals for treatment.
Job description:
1. Insurance Authorization
- Request initial and reauthorization from insurance companies following their individual guidelines for authorization submission.
- MR required, online submission, authorization forms completed.
2. Records Request
- Receive, review and log requests for medical records audits or billing requests for various sources.
3. Other Duties as Assigned
- Cross training to act as back up to others in the office.
- Miscellaneous projects and duties as industry evolves.
