As An Activities Assistant You Will
- Lead & Implement: Execute a daily schedule of activities including music, arts and crafts, exercise classes, games, and religious services.
- One-on-One Engagement: Provide meaningful bedside visits for residents who may be unable to attend group functions.
- Innovation: Contribute new ideas for monthly calendars that cater to diverse cognitive and physical abilities (including memory care).
- Documentation: Maintain accurate records of resident participation and progress as required by state and federal regulations.
- Safety First: Assist in the safe transport of residents to and from activity areas.
- The "Vibe": A "people person" who is patient, upbeat, and empathetic toward the elderly and those with dementia.
- Communication: Ability to speak clearly and engage with residents, families, and staff professionally.
- Reliability: Long-term care requires consistency; our residents thrive on seeing familiar faces.
- Experience: Prior experience in a nursing home, assisted living, or memory care setting is a major plus, but we are willing to train the right personality!
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Ability to stand for long periods and lift/move activity equipment (up to 25 lbs).
- CNA certification is a plus but not required.
- Valid Maine Driver's License; with clean driving record
- Computer skills
- CPR Certification
