POSITION SUMMARY
Thirty Nine Enterprises, LLC is a subsidiary of First Americans Museum with the goal of driving First American Museum’s mission within food and beverage services. Thirty Nine Enterprises, LLC’s plays a key role in the operations of Thirty Nine Restaurant and catering services. The Dishwasher is responsible for thoroughly washing dishes, eating utensils and food storage containers to ensure health and food safety standards are met while supporting the culinary team. The dishwasher must be able to work efficiently and during high volume times and must also be able to work well in a team environment.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Wash, organize and inventory glassware, silverware, utensils, pots and pans using industrial dishwashing machines or by hand.
- Scrub and soak cookware with heavy residue to ensure thorough cleaning.
- Sort and organize clean dishes, utensils, and equipment in designated areas.
- Clean and sanitize food preparation areas, floors, walls, and equipment regularly to maintain a clean and safe environment.
- Ensure all washed items are sanitized and dried properly before returning to service
- Ensure that trash and recycling are removed promptly and properly disposed of according to restaurant policies.
- Follow all safety and sanitation guidelines
- Replenish cleaning supplies and notify the supervisor of any shortages.
- Perform deep-cleaning tasks such as cleaning kitchen vents, grease traps, or other equipment as scheduled.
- Maintain a high standard of cleanliness and sanitation in the kitchen.
- Work collaboratively with kitchen staff and follow instructions from chefs and supervisors
- Assist with basic food preparation tasks, such as peeling vegetables or organizing supplies, as directed by the kitchen team.
- Maintain awareness of kitchen needs and proactively assist team members when necessary.
- Communicate with team members to ensure smooth kitchen operations during service hours.
- Report all unsafe conditions immediately.
- Assist in dish set up for events.
- Clean and monitor dish machine as needed.
- Sweep and mop walk in refrigerators, kitchen areas.
- Understand and provide chemicals and supplies for dishwashing station.
- Safely handle sharp kitchen tools.
- Polish silver.
- Complete other duties as assigned by supervisor to include cross training.
QUALIFICATIONS
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Previous experience in the restaurant industry is preferred but not required
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
- Basic understanding of kitchen safety and sanitation practices (training provided if necessary)
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Willingness to take direction and learn
- Work well in a team setting
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to adapt and re-organize effectively
- Positive team attitude and strong work ethic
- Ability to work with minimal supervision
- Ability to work in high-volume environments and meet deadlines
- Physical stamina to handle the demands of the job, including standing for extended periods of time, working in hot and humid conditions and lifting up to 50 pounds
- Experience in catering or event-based culinary services is a strong plus
- Must be comfortable with handling potentially sharp kitchen tool and working with cleaning materials
- Reliable and punctual
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required
