What are the responsibilities and job description for the Dispatcher/Scheduler position at First Aid and Safety Patrol?
First Aid and Safety Patrol of Lebanon is a private, non-profit EMS agency providing emergency medical care and non-emergency transportation to the surrounding communities. We are currently seeking a full-time Dispatcher/Scheduler for our busy Logistics Center.
Schedule is a Platoon Rotation; 0700-1900 hours. Weekends and Holidays are required.
Training with the Logistics Supervisor will be dayshift hours. The training/probationary period pay rate is $19.50per hour. This increases to $21.50 per hour once cleared.
Essential Job Functions:
· Answering all in-coming phone calls on the transport extension and be able assist customers with scheduling a transport.
· Obtain all necessary information to safely, efficiently, and appropriately arrange for patient transport.
· Data entry specific to non-emergency and emergency activity and to assure PCR compliance.
· Monitoring incoming faxes and incoming calls and triage them for transport requests or direct them to the appropriate department.
· Timely dispatch of appropriate units to facilitate non-emergency transports.
. Maintain continued proficiency in insurance and billing practices that may change frequently.
. Obtain pre-authorizations and billing information, as well as communicate the documentation required for non-emergency transports such as physician certification statements, payer of last resort, and advanced beneficiary notice.
. Tracking of all in-service emergency and non-emergency units to assure adequate utilization of system status management with direction from the Logistics Center Supervisor.
. Monitor multiple radios for emergency and non-emergency communications and be able to assist units with their requests.
Requirements:
1. Possess excellent customer service qualities while dealing with customers / clients on the phone or face to face.
2. Must be able to maintain composure during high stress situations which includes the ability to maintain a positive attitude.
3. Proficient typing skills and be able to type a minimum of 60 words per minute.
4. Proof of Vaccination against Influenza and Covid-19 (exemption paperwork available upon request)
