What are the responsibilities and job description for the Director, Business Intelligence & Planning Americas position at First Abu Dhabi Bank (FAB)?
JOB PURPOSE:
A. Drive business momentum through client, product and other strategic initiatives aligned to Group
and Business Segments’ priorities for Americas.
B. Drive/execute Head Office and Americas initiatives and projects across Americas.
C. Anchor internal collaboration related to Americas and act as the key liaison between
Americas and other related business and functions to deliver HO and Americas priorities and targets.
D. Build and establish networks with Business Segments’ stakeholders in Head Office.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Strategy and Implementation
- Drive the strategy development and implementation for Americas including Coverage, Product, Funding, Operational and footprint
- Manage and implement key strategic initiatives for Americas; and to ensure effective alignment into the Group Strategy
- Identify priorities together with Americas and revisit them regularly to assess progress; act as a key thought partner, brainstorming & identifying solutions to challenges
- Provide oversight to the delivery of strategic initiatives and manage long-term, cross-organizational projects
- Align Americas Strategy and its implementation to FAB Group’s overall objectives and plans
- Plan and manage leadership team retreats, developing objectives and agenda
Strategic Cascade for Americas
- Enhance overall business performance by providing strategic and holistic lens in areas such as organizational governance and policies, systems, processes, & procedures
- Integrate strategic inputs to support the development of a robust annual budget resulting in a meaningful performance scorecard for FAB Americas
- Develop and cascade the balanced scorecard to the various departments in collaboration with Business Management in Head Office
- Develop and produce customer / transactional analytics to support decision making across Coverage and Products
- Overlay strategic intent of FAB Americas CEO to identify gaps in current Americas governance structure and implement changes/workarounds in compliance with rest of FAB Group
Customer Franchise and Network
- Identify gaps and pathways forward to build a successful customer franchise in Americas and across our network by working with Coverage Heads and Product Heads
- Implement customer-related initiatives together with Business Management (Regional & Head Office) in Americas
- Champion the implementation of the GRM business model for Americas
Communication and Internal Business Connectivity
- Provide communications support to FAB Americas CEO: reports, memos, presentations, internal and external communications
- Connect and liaise across departments on issues, challenges and pathways forward related to Americas & Group strategy, implementation and performance
- Drive Americas employee culture together with HR in line with the targets and FAB’s corporate values
Americas Governance
- Being SPOC for Corporate Governance for Americas, align the FAB Americas Governance structure with that of FAB Group’s Governance structure and implement the changes accordingly
- Coordinate with respective departments to ensure all periodic reviews as described in Governance charter are performed on time and submitted to Group
- Liaise with the Group Governance Team and ensure that all Governance related queries arising for FAB Americas are answered correctly
- Submit Americas Governance quarterly returns to Group Governance Team
- Connect and liaise across departments on Governance related issues, challenges and pathways forward related to Americas & Group strategy, implementation and performance
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:
Knowledge & Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Economics, Finance or relevant discipline.
- 8 years of experience in similar capacity, preferably with Americas experience
- Experience working in a matrix organisation structure
- Extensive budgeting, forecasting and business planning experience involving interaction with senior management
- Knowledge of the banking sector, and FAB’s products and business strategies
